I was in Washington DC on 9/11 and feel a kinship with everyone who was killed that day. I just read that today is your birthday, so - happy birthday. I also used to have a Quaker bird, but mine was mean! Hopefully your two made each other happy. Are the birds still alive?

Our first time visiting the memorial today, and our four year old asked me to read some names from the infinity pool. I read maybe three names from where we were standing, one of them was Marie’s. Then we ran across her photo in the museum, and my daughter cannot stop talking about her. It’s been 8 hours since we left, and we are still googling info about Marie as my daughter wants to know everything. I’m sure Marie holds a special place in all who knew her’s heart, but also, my four year old told me at bedtime that she also misses Marie. So sweet. Wanted to share the story in case her family saw this. Would love to know any other info about her as well that I could share with my daughter. Marie appears vibrant and magnetic...I’m sure it was a huge loss to all who knew her. Our sincere condolences.

Marie, I still remember when we first met as teenagers, working at Friendlies in the SI mall. Even back then i knew you were one in a million. I have so many wonderful memories of hanging out together and I will always remember your beautiful smile and great sense of humor. You are greatly missed.

We visit NYC every year July 4th week. We have been to the Memorial many times. I try to snap a couple of pics of names of victims so I can later read about them online. This year I took a pic of Marie's name. She seems like she was a lovely person. Marie, her family and friends are in my prayers. God bless.

Dear Family,
I drove home from work yesterday and bumped into an old friend. We started to talk about the people we knew and worked together with. It was at this time I had learned about Marie's passing on Sept. 11.
I was heartbroken.
I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to know Marie for a brief period of time. She was always kind, caring, thoughtful, and had the most beautiful smile.
To Frank, who I had the chance to work with and know. I wanted so say you are in my thoughts. Both you and your sister were always so kind to me and my brothers. You never judged, your words had maturity beyond our years, and the memory I have of your sister will stay in my heart.
I love you guys. I am only so sad to learn of this now.

We were introduced by a mutual friend and since we lived in the same neighborhood, started taking the express bus (to work) together on Wall St. I remember saving you a seat beside me because I always got on the bus before you. We would chat all the way into the city about friends, music, clubs, guys, vacations and work. We used to meet on the bus coming home also…mostly having to stand because there no were vacant seats left. You were working at Cantor. You were very excited; you moved into a new home, bought a new car and became the “proud parent” of two birds. We exchanged phone numbers and started going out on weekends. We went to Turquoise (Gazebo) together a lot. I will always remember you on the dance floor with that beautiful smile, sunny disposition...your ability to make everyone else smile no matter where you were. You could always light up a room. I remember going to your memorial service and thinking I was in the middle of a horrible dream. That day 10 years ago not only cut your life way too short, it took the lives of so many innocent people and changed the lives of so many others left behind to mourn. You were taken way too soon Marie. I miss your smile. May you rest in peace and be up in heaven dancing with the angels <3<3

I had the pleasure of meeting Marie back in 1990. We both had the same job in NYC. We started to car pool together and thats when I knew. She is a wonderful person. Then she left the job and went to work at Cantor and was doing great there. Her life was going great. She even bought a condo. Over the years of getting to know her, we went out a lot, hung out with each others families and friends. We started going to clubs on Long Island with her friends and mine, it was like one very close family. I even went to Vegas to meet her and her friends, just one day there with her I won all my money back that I lost a week before. We did pretty much everything together. We spoke about everything together, we became very close friends. I MISS HER SO MUCH!!!!! My life has not been the same nor will it ever be the same without her. I have her picture next to my TV and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't look at it and think what a great girl and I am so proud to say that she was and is my only best friend a guy can have. My Prays go out to the Lukas's family..
