Julie Viele Hines (Knickerbocker-Viele) Age 92, of Boston and Marstons Mills, February 13, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Marion E. Hines, loving mother of Sheldon Hines and his wife Virginia Bradley of Concord, MA, Julian Hines and his late partner Cindy Baron of Chelsea, MA, Hadley Hines and her husband Edward Chianese of Belmont, MA. Devoted sister of S. Thompson Viele and his wife Nancy of York, ME, the late Chase Viele of Buffalo NY, and the late Kathlyne Viele Hinshaw of Bronxville, NY. Loving aunt of Catherine and Lucy Viele of Santa Fe, NM, John Viele of Kittery, ME, and Amy Viele of Yarmouth, ME, Helen Hinshaw Crary and husband Miner Crary of Sudbury, MA, John Hinshaw and wife Beth of Portland, OR, and Julia Hinshaw Williamson and husband David of Hermitage, PA. Loving grandmother of Sarah, Atulananda Dasa (Andrew) and Anna Hines, Noe and Emma Ruth Chianese. Devoted cousin of Josephine Jacob and her husband Jim Adams of Deer Isle ME, William Jacob and his wife Paula of Rockville, MD and John Jacob of Thomaston, ME. Also survived by two great-grandchildren: Ananda Bradley Schaff and Maia Wara Camacho Hines, and eleven great-nieces and nephews: Jake and Esther Adams, Anna and Andrew Jacob, Caleb Jerome Jacob and Kaitlin Ann Jacob, Eva Hinshaw, James Williamson, Cameron Crary, Alyssa Crary, and Annabel Kathlyne Coogan. Julie grew up in Buffalo, NY and lived in New York City and Summit, NJ before moving to Weston, MA in 1960. She received degrees from the Buffalo Seminary and Harvard University Extension. Member of the Junior League, the Colonial Dames of America (MA), the English Speaking Union, and the Boston Athenaeum; Docent of the Boston Public Library and the Codman House in Lincoln, MA; volunteer for the New England Conservatory.
