Marguerite Brynjolfsson

1927 - 2018

Marguerite Reman Brynjolfsson (1927-2018), a longtime resident of Wayland, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on March 2, 2018 in Dana Point, California. She was predeceased by her husband, Ari Brynjolfsson, and succeeded by 5 children and 19 grandchildren. Marguerite was born in Paris, June 4, 1927. Upon the occupation of France during WWII, she moved with her parents to Denmark. She graduated from Copenhagen Business School, with a degree in languages. She met the love of her life, Ari, in Copenhagen, where they married in 1950 and started a family. Marguerite, Ari and her young family immigrated to the Boston area in 1965, and settled in Wayland, where they built their home, raised their 5 children and actively participated in the local community for almost 50 years. They loved living in Wayland. Marguerite enjoyed working part-time as a high school French teacher, translator and tutor of Danish, German and French. Marguerite ensured that her home on Bridle Path, became a gathering place of international scholars, garden enthusiasts and Francophiles. Throughout her life, but particularly as her children left the family home, Ari and Marguerite became more adventurous, travelling extensively for business and pleasure to amongst others; India, China, Egypt, South Africa, Iran, the Americas as well Europe, especially to her beloved France. In her later years, she and Ari moved to Tampa Florida, and after Aris passing to Dana Point, California. Many were touched by her compassion, curiosity, love for her large family and biting wit. Marguerite Reman Brynjolfsson was an extraordinary woman, with an appetite for life, who lives on as an example of life well lived. Erik Brynjolfsson of Cambridge, MA, John Brynjolfsson of San Juan Capistrano, CA (Margaret Brynjolfsson), Alan Brynjolfsson of Tampa, FL (Trish Brynjolfsson) and the 19 grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held in Dana Point on March 30, 2018.
