Albert Alex Obituary

Albert Alex, a retired bartender and World War II veteran, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Quincy Medical Center. He was 87 years of age. Born, raised and educated in South Boston, he had lived in North Weymouth for 50 years. He had worked at the Copley Plaza Hotel as a bartender for many years and had served in the U.S.Navy during World War II. He enjoyed saltwater fishing, bowling and was an avid Boston sports fan. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy F. (Connelly) Alex, he was the devoted father of Albert P. Alex of Bartlett, N.H., Edward R. Alex of Chatham, Patricia A. McDermott of Cotuit, Diane M. Fox of Norwell and Joseph M. Alex of North Weymouth; loving brother of Joseph Alexsunas of South Boston and Paul Alexsunas of Plymouth. Also survived by six loving grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held March 19. Arrangements were made by McDonald Funeral Home, 40 Sea St., North Weymouth.
