Edward Hicks Obituary

Edward E. Hicks beloved husband of the late Belinda F. Hicks, formerly of Winchester, passed away on April 2, 2013. He was 84 years old. Ed was a 1947 graduate of Winchester High School and went on to Harvard, graduating from the University in 1951 and Harvard Law School in 1954. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he practiced law with Comins & Newbury for his entire career. Throughout his life Ed gave his time to the community he loved, serving on the Winchester Board of Selectmen, Winchester Hospital Board and the Winchester Savings Bank Board of Trustees. Ever the sports enthusiast, he was an avid golfer and tennis player and long-time member of the Winchester Country Club before retiring to Florida. Ed is survived by his four daughters and sons-in- law; Susan and Robert Elkins of Sarasota, FL, Patricia and Steve Levy of Baltimore, MD, Betty Jo and Dominick Buro of Stuart, FL, and Nancy and Chris Keating of Winchester; grandchildren Zach and Sean Keating, and Emma and Alice Buro; and his brother Fred (Bud) Hicks of Evansville, IN. Friends are welcome to attend a celebration of Ed's life on Friday April 26th at 11 am at the Winchester Country Club, 468 Mystic St, Winchester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Winchester Sports Foundation, PO Box 493, Winchester MA 01890 or the charity of your choice.
