Mildred Evans Obituary

Mildred A. (Kozmoski) Evans, Essex/ formerly of Winchester 83, wife of the late George W. Evans, Sr. MD, died Tuesday April 10, 2012 in St. Petersburg, FL. Born in Nanticoke, PA on May 25, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Leokatia (Buczkowski) Kozmoski. Mrs. Evans was a graduate of Meyers High School in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She was a long- time resident of Winchester, MA and more recently a resident of Essex, MA. She was an avid cook, quilter, gardener and was a wonderful grandmother. Always feisty and independent she overcame many serious medical issues during the last 40 years. Her husband, Dr. George W. Evans, Sr. was a pathologist at Winchester Hospital for many years who predeceased her in 2005. Mrs. Evans is survived by her 4 children: George W. Evans, Jr. of Bradenton, FL, Charles C. Evans of St. Petersburg, FL, Marianne Brown of Dallas, PA and Kelly Evans, also of St. Petersburg, FL. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, as well as her sisters Louise Yerabeck and Marcie Jones. Mrs. Evans was also predeceased by her brother Thomas Kozmoski. Burial will be private and will be held in the family lot in the Spring Street Cemetery in Essex. There will be no visiting hours.
