Lansing, MI formerly of Allegan, MI
Passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at the age of 66. Born November 23, 1958 to James and Wanda (Conklin) Kaake in Allegan, Michigan. Chuck was a graduate of Allegan High School and went to be a bus driver for the Allegan public schools. Later he went to work for the Perrigo Company working in pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution. Chuck loved the outdoors, and his greatest passions were hunting and fishing. He was known to be stubborn but also had a big heart and he was funny. He enjoyed his peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and being around those he loved including his dogs, Shooter, Max, Odie and Gia. Chuck was loved dearly and will be missed by all who remember him. Preceding him in death were his wife, Diane Conklin; parents, James and Wanda Kaake; adopted parents, Wayne and Frances Conklin; brothers, Larry Conklin, Gary Conklin and sister, Peggy Conklin-Tisbrow.
Surviving are his son, Jeston Ripley; grandchildren, Layla Ripley, Liam Ripley; sisters, Ann (Larry) Starring, Laura (David) Schultz, Brenda Anzueto, Kathy (Mike) Schlubatis, Carla (Richard) Moore; step-mother, Barbara Kaake as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Skinner Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service for visitation. To share memories, condolences and view a live stream of the service please visit www.SkinnerFuneralHomes.com

I got to know you from my start at North Ward Elementary School in fourth grade. You and your sister Anne were always so nice to me as the "new kid". We went our own ways after highschool and I lost track of you until FaceBook. I will pray for you and your family and friends that are still left "down here".

Chuck was a pleasure to know. He was one of those guys that called me Boss when I never had to boss him to do anything. Boisterous, always smiling and laughing and willing to help anyone do anything including picking on The Boss. Rest easy Chuck, your job is finally done.
