I also knew Wardie through the Wilton Piano Group. She was a quietly remarkable person - humble about her piano playing and yet a wonderful musician; relaxed and welcoming as a hostess that made us comfortable in her glorious home; mother of 8 and devoted grandmother who made everything look easy. A light has gone out with her passing, and I will truly miss her.
Deepest condolences to her family,

I got to know her about 14 years ago from Wilton Piano Group getting together every month to show what we were practicing at the time. She was quite a good musician. We loved her house with the beautiful lake view when she hosted. She always had the big fire place going during the winter month. What I remember most of all is her big smile, the twinkling eyes and cheerful voice. She made us feel so comfortable and happy because she was a relaxed and happy person. We will miss her so much! Rest in Peace, Wardie!

Wardie was such a good neighbor and friend to so many of us who moved to Wilton during the 1960's...one of the warmest of those who'd moved there years before us. Our favorite memory is watching her skate on Pope's pond one crisp winter day. John was there, and together we watched her glide about effortlessly. On remarking on her skill, John confided to us that when she was living in New York City she skated for the Ice Follies. We believed him totally, which must have given him great satisfaction. Our great regret is that we never got to verify what John told us. Her daughter Eileen and our daughter Laura met in Wilton and have been great friends ever since. Wardie will be so missed.
