Fred Hudnall, 73, passed away Thursday April 19, 2012 at Reid Hospital, Richmond.
He was born December 12, 1938 in Glasgow, W.Va., to Philmore Hudnall and Thelma Wood Hudnall Adkins. He had lived in Lynn since 1963. He graduated from Cedar Grove (W.Va.) High School in 1958. He was fortunate enough to retire early in life from driving a semi-truck and lucky enough to have the priviledge of enjoying may years of hunting, fishing and golfing along with a variety of "motorized" hobbies.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Rachel O'Dell Hudnall; two children, Philip Hudnall and his wife, Diana, of Williamsburg, Judith Hudnall Vitatoe and her son, Fred's only grandchild, Matthew Vitatoe, of Indianapolis; three sisters, Anna Fridley of Cedar Grove, W.Va., Ruth Parks of Portland, Shirley Acosta of Canyon Lake, Texas; one brother, Gary Adkins of Alexandria; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
He was preceded by his parents, three brothers, Harry Lee, Bill and Chuck Hudnall and one sister, Mary Lou Hudnall Sterling.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Thomas Memorial Chapel, Lynn, IN Tuesday, April 27, 2012 from 3-7 p.m. Fred's wishes were to be cremated and have his ashes taken back to West Virginia. The family will honor this request.
