Janet Harris Obituary

Janet Louise Harris, 103, of 2030 Chester Blvd., Richmond, IN, died on February 13, 2025 at Friends Fellowship Community following a brief illness.
Born in Howard County, IN, on August 12, 1921, she was the daughter of Merrill G. and Blanche Smith Harris. She was a graduate of Norwood High School, Norwood, OH, and of Wittenberg University, Springfield, OH.
Miss Harris had worked for publications at Norwood and Cincinnati in Ohio, at Chicago, IL, and at Denver, CO. In Colorado Springs she was associated with radio station KRDO. In Randolph County, for 14 years she was a reporter for the News-Gazette. She also was a published free-lance writer and - authored one book. One of her poems was included in the National Library of Poetry's 1993 edition.
Miss Harris was an active member of the Jericho Friends Meeting.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Doan and Mills Funeral Home, Richmond, was in charge of arrangements.
A memorial service, with Martin Wells, former pastor of the Jericho Friends Meeting, will be conducted at Friends Fellowship Community Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 3:00 p.m.
