Bonnie Davis Obituary

Bonnie Williams Davis

June 20, 1933 - June 20, 2025

Bonnie Williams Davis, 92, passed away peacefully on her birthday, June 20, 2025 in Winston Salem.

A loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Bonnie's life was marked by generosity and a deep commitment to uplifting others.

She is survived by her daughter Pamela Davis (David), son Christopher Davis (Elaine), grandsons Austin Davis (Chloe) and Brandon Davis (Izzy), and brothers Norman Williams and Archie Williams. She also leaves behind a host of beloved Williams nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband Harvey Davis; her parents, McKinley and Lacie Williams; brothers Roger, Rex, Eddie, and John Williams; and sister Peggy Williams Giambona.

Bonnie was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church until her health declined. Her spiritual gift of words of affirmation was reflected in her heartfelt notes she wrote to comfort and encourage others. She had an enduring love for cornbread and cabbage that was only surpassed by the love she held for her family and friends.

Her ashes will be scattered on the North Carolina Brushy Mountains at a later date, honoring her wishes. Bonnie's family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Heritage Woods and Trellis Supportive Care for their compassionate care.

This is a love story.

Bonnie Naomi Davis will always be mother to my best friend and as such, my "other mother."

This is how it came about:

In 1972 there was a girl on the bus I didn´t know. Love stepped in, and that girl, Pamela Yvonne Davis, became not just my friend, but my Best Friend Forever.

I don´t remember the circumstances, but my new friend introduced me to her mom. Love stepped in again, and Bonnie nurtured me, encouraged me, praised me, all through these years.

With Bonnie Davis, Love always carried the day, right down to our last visit. Bonnie was feeling well, and we had a wonderful time.

Bless be the God of Love who brought Pam and me together, keeps us together, and will sustain us with memories of Bonnie´s Love.

It was always a pleasure to visit with Bonnie at our Williams Family Reunions over the years! A big smile and a warm hug were certain to be shared with such a lovely and caring cousin! She was truly a beautiful person!

Bonnie was a true saint! She always thought about others before herself. She took care of her family even when the going got a little rough. Praise God that a saint is now in heaven.
