Daniel Bowen Obituary

BOWEN KING - Daniel W. Bowen (Danny), 58 of King, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, October 21, 2009. He was born February 6, 1951 to Worth and Blanche Bowen. Danny was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, Cody and Mason. He enjoyed fishing and playing with them. They were very special to him. Danny is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sharon Smith Bowen and his daughters, Dawn Bowen of King and Dashea (Chris) Carlson of Winston-Salem. He is survived by one brother Rex (Janice) Bowen and three sisters, Ruth James, Jane (Larry) Leagans, and Lynn Moser. He is also survived by a host of brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was a member of King Christian Center. He was an active member of the American Legion (Second-Vice Chairman), an army veteran, and served on the King City Council for 4 years. A private memorial service will be held at a later date at King Christian Center with Reverend Randall Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a trust fund for the grandchildren. All monetary donations can be sent to Sharon Bowen at 204 Mtn View Rd., King NC 27021.
