To the family and friends; time does not always heal hurt. However love for one another helps us to face the pain of losing our loved ones. May we all live our lives and continue to remember your smile and personality as we try to live up to your expectations of being a kind and wonderful young man. May God continue to watch over the family and friends. Love Wanda B. Miss you Darryl and Gwen.

I met Big D when he was 17 and came to work at Domino's Pizza with his cohorts, Ced and Will. I don't know if he ever talked about that crazy woman who yelled all the time--that was me, lol. But I never had to yell at him.
We all loved him at Domino's. Some of us marvelled at how such a big guy who looked like he could crumble bricks with his bare hands could be so sweet and shy, and speak so softly. He had a radiant smile. Heck, he was just a radiant guy all around. And I always expected that he, along with Ced and Will, would become outstanding young men.
In the years since Domino's, I'd run into Darryl every now and again and we'd catch up for a minute or two. And it was always great to see him, hear he was doing well. I can't believe he's gone. I know that the sense of loss I feel is nothing compared to you, his family, his fiancee, his closest friends--but there is a hole in my heart too. I grieve with you. This world has lost a quiet giant, a great light. But I know in my heart of hearts he is Home, and whole, and keeping an eye on all his loved ones.

Darryl, I know your in a better place but I cant come to terms with the fact that your gone just yet. In time I'm sure it will get easier as life does go on, But I just want you to know that you were so loved by so many and only God knows the reason why he needed you in heaven more then we needed you here on earth. Maybe one day I will understand why he took you when he did but until then please know that you were will forever be missed and loved and we cant wait to see you again :) I love you!
