RODDY KERNERSVILLE ~ David Wesley Roddy Sr. Mar. 9, 1962 ~ Dec. 10, 2011 Mr. David Wesley Roddy Sr. went home to be with his lord December 10, 2011. He was born March 9, 1962 to Claude Buddy Roddy, Jr. and Shelby Saye Roddy. David worked at Merchants Tire as a service tech and was a member of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle. David loved to play with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; and one brother, Carl Eugene. In addition to his mother of Walkertown, survivors include his wife, Rita Holt Roddy of the home; one son, David Wesley Roddy Jr. and wife, Wendi of Walkertown; one daughter, Dreama Maynard and husband, Ronnie of Kernersville; five grandchildren: Payton, Logan and Rachel Roddy, Ethan and Chloe Maynard; two brothers, Richard Roddy of Walkertown and Preston Roddy of Kernersville; two sisters, Patty Hemrick and husband, Steve of Oak Ridge and April Whitaker of Walkertown. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 13 at Hayworth-Miller, Kernersville Chapel with the Rev. David E. Neese officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friend's from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
