LOGAN BROWNS SUMMIT Derek Gray Logan April 30, 1968 - May 8, 2013 Derek Gray Logan passed away with his loving family surrounding him on May 8, 2013. He was born April 30, 1968 in Forsyth County and he graced this earth with his presence for 45 years. Derek's funeral service will be Monday, May 13, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home; the burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Derek grew up at various air force bases and spent the majority of his childhood at Andrews AFB. After high school Derek returned to Winston Salem and attended Forsyth Community College, graduating with a degree in auto mechanics. He worked as a mechanic, was a salesman for Stock Builders and was currently employed by TIMCO. Derek leaves behind his beloved wife, Laura Scott Logan, mother, Chriss Logan, and father, Albert Logan, sister, Teresa Shell. Also, left to cherish his memory, a large group of extended family and a host of treasured friends. He loved his family and friends and always put them before himself. The family will received friends Saturday May 11 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Lambeth-Troxler oat 300 West Wendover Avenue in Greensboro. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lees Chapel UMC, 2303 Lees Chapel Road, Greensboro, NC and designated to the Blessed Table Food Pantry. I just saw a post on FB about Derek. I dated him in the late 80's. He was such a great guy and was there for me when my father died. My thoughts and prayers are with you and his family at this time.

I am so sadden for your loss. Derek and I became friends years ago, his smile and welcoming hug always made everyone feel his love for his friends. May God give you and your families the strenght to accept he was needed as an angel more then on this earth.

Laura, you are very much in my thoughts and prayers this morning as I asked that you would feel God's presence and strength through this day and all those to come. We loved Derek as a son and will never forget him and the fun times we all had together. He was such a good person and we have been blessed to have been a small part of his life. We love you, Laura and always will. To Derek: "Honey Hush" and "Load Up ??" I know that you will be teaching the angels to dance, my friend!!!

Laura-Ron and I are so sorry to hear of Derek's passing. We will always remember the fun times the 4 of us had when we got together, your pool party that we attended, Derek (and I think you) going to the beach with Ron and me, and I know Derek and Ron had countless memories of working together. Chriss, so sorry to hear of the passing of Derek. I remember the times you would say how much he and I looked alike and you would wear Red on Fridays.I wore
red in memory of Derek this past Friday. May God bless and comfort you and your family during this time.

We are saddened to hear of Derek's passing. He was a wonderful person and was greatly respected in the softball community. I never had the pleasure of playing on his team but we played against him in the league. Derek was always a great competitor with a great attitude. He always had a smile on his face and often picked and cut up with the other teams. We will miss seeing him at Beeson Park. There are very few people who have his personality and his will be missed at the ballpark. Our prayers are with you and your family.
