Emily Mabe Obituary

KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Emily Arlene Nance Mabe, 74, of 814 Piney Grove Road died peacefully at her home Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004. Mrs. Mabe attended Faith Baptist Church in Winston-Salem and loved working with her flowers. She particularly enjoyed her great-grandchildren, Caleb, Morgan and Allison. Mrs. Mabe was preceded in death by her parents, Lemuel and Geneva Nance and her brother, Jackie W. Nance. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Claude H. Mabe of the home; her daughter, Martha Wagner and husband, Steve, of Greensboro; her son, Melvin L. Mabe of Kernersville; her granddaughter, Amy Graham and her husband, Brian; her great-grandchildren, of the Philippines; her sister, Mrs. Mary Dean of Kernersville; and her brother, Lemuel "Buddy" Nance of Colfax. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Dec. 9, at the funeral home and other times at the home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative CareCenter, 1100-C S. Stratford Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
