SEAGRAVES NASHVILLE, TN Eric Seagraves July 9, 1972 ~ July 16, 2011 Eric Seagraves, age 39, of Nashville, TN, and formerly of Jonesville ,NC passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011 from injuries sustained in a swimming accident. A Memorial Service (celebration of Eric's life) will be held at Starmount High School on Sunday, July 24. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:30 and the Service at 3:30. Eric was a graduate of Starmount High School (Class of 1990) and the Art Institute of Atlanta. Eric is rockin' out in Heaven with his dad, the late Ray Seagraves. He will be missed here by his wife, Candy Hudspeth Seagraves; his son, Eli Maverick; his mother, Pat Seagraves; his grandmother, Hazel Peele; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ronnie and Monna Hudspeth; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyell and Mickey Leonard; four nieces, Savanna, Rylee, Jessi and Dakotah; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to VH1 Save the Music (www.vh1savethemusic.com) or Feeding America (www.feedingamerica.org). "Eric loved God, his wife, his son, his family, his friends, his wife, music, performing, life, tattoos, motorcycles, his wife, reading, the beach, and good food. dear candy, I am sooo sorry to hear about Eric. I had no idea he had passed till this weekend. You and him were truly an inspiration to me..through your singing and your genuine love for each other. I know he is rockin it out in Heaven now, but he will surely be missed here on earth. My heart goes out to you and precious lil Eli. My heart has been so saddened since I found out..it has really hit me of hows precious life really is. Dear Candy,
Brett and I only learned of Eric's death yesterday. We are so sad for you and Eli. I have great memories of you and Eric and Tracey singing together in Souled Out. You and Eric were a great team and it was obvious he loved you soooo much!! I remember how you looked at him with such love and admiration as he sang! It was always fun to talk with Eric and hear him sing about Jesus. This verse reminds me of Eric and his passion for Jesus and Life. "Yes, and I will rejoice, for I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance, as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. I am so sorry for what you are having to go through. Please let the rest of the family know that i am sorry for your loss. It seems just like yesterday that I was a little girl and our families were all together at each others house and playing Rook and enjoying a few laughs. We all enjoyed those times so much, I have thought about your family many times over the years and wish time had not passed so quickly. Your family has always been special to me.
