CLEMMONS - Mr. Franklin Davis Williams Jr., 72, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Williams was born June 9, 1932, in Jacksonville, Fla., the son of Franklin Davis "Bunt" Williams and Grace Wilson Williams. He worked as comptroller at Goodwill Industries until his retirement. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mrs. Docia Wiggins (Virgil). He is survived by his wife of 48 and a half years, Peggy Thompson Williams; a daughter, Anne Carte (Mike) of Virginia; a son, Franklin Davis (Dave) Williams (Connie) of Nebraska; four grandchildren, Courtney Jefferis (Billy) of South Carolina, Whitney Williams of Clemmons, Tony Kubacak (Cindy) of Texas and Kelli Eagen (Jon) of Nebraska; two great- grandchildren, Devin and Leah Jefferis; five sisters, Verna Courson, Mary Capwell (Lucky), Evelyn Shuh (Jack), Ernestine Craig, all of Florida, and Alma French (Bennie) of North Carolina; and a host of nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many wonderful friends, along with his faithful companions, Sam and Mayday. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at Pine Grove United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Freddie Moretz and the Rev. Shirley Wilhelm officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 4, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, Pine Grove Weekday School, Pine Grove Cemetery Fund or the charity of your choice.
