Lisa Christina Epps, 47, passed away on December 17, 2023, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. Lisa was born on September 9, 1976, to Sue Holloway Epps and Edward Epps in Charleston, SC. A lifelong advocate for animals, she passionately upheld the causes of PETA, and adopted a vegan diet and philosophy. Lisa will be remembered as a beautiful, energetic, young woman with a magnetic personality and a huge heart. In addition to her father, Lisa was preceded in death by a brother. Surviving is her devoted fiancée, Joel Ornstein. Prior to Lisa becoming ill, the two were looking forward to a Spring wedding at a favorite vacation spot in Mexico. Also surviving are her loving mother, Sue Epps; sisters, Patricia Howard, and Karen Everhart; brothers, Joey Parker (Cathy), and Roy Epps (spouse); several nieces and nephews; special aunts and uncles; special friends, Rob, Pim, Nedrin, and Miss Katt; many special other friends as well; and a houseful of cherished fur babies, including rescue cats, Huxley, Holden, and Little Lupe; dogs, Shine, Millie, Bella, Bo, and Johnnie Mae; and pet pigs, Dottie Ornstein and Milford Montgomery Ornstein.

She was so kindhearted. We went to high school together in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. I was a complete outcast, but she was one of just a few people who was nice to me.
During our senior year, a boy who came from a poor family couldn't afford the cap and gown for his graduation ceremony and she covered it for him.
