June 7, 1938 - August 19, 2023
Margaret "Peggy" Louise Pritchard Winters, 85, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2023. She was born in Indiana and retired from her career as an elementary school teacher in Florida. Peggy was an active member of Long's Chapel and enjoyed traveling, volunteering, and spending time with her family. Her husband, Rev. John Everett Winters, and son, Jeffrey Winters, preceded her in death.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Ian) of New Zealand; daughter-in-law, Cindy of Thomasville; grandchildren: Cameron (Lauren) of New Zealand, Krista (Sho) of Japan, John of Thomasville, and Abigail (Justin) of Winston Salem, along with two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 2 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023, in the Susan Todd Lounge in the Harrell Center at the Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center, 91 N. Lakeshore Dr., Waynesville, NC 28785.

Michelle and I are grateful to have known Peggy. She was a source of great encouragement to us in our ministry with Wycliffe. When we visited Long's Chapel she would always ask great questions about Bible translation, and how the YES Link ladies could pray for us. She organized a visit to our location at JAARS in Waxhaw, NC where she enjoyed experiencing the work we do to support missionaries around the world. Thank you, God, for the gift of Peggy Winters!
