WALNUT COVE-Mark Fleming Shore, 72, passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, June 17, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Mark was born on January 16, 1953, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to the late Thomas, Sr. and Mary Welborn Shore. He was a lifetime farmer and enjoyed riding in and working the fields in his John Deere tractors. Mark was a charter member as well as an elder at First Christian Church of Walnut Cove, having also sang in the choir. He was the very definition of a family man and dedicated his life to his wife, children, and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Savannah Dovie Ball.

He is survived by his loving wife, Victoria Bowman Shore; four children, Rocky Shore, Carrie Ball (Tommy), Tammy Morefield (Mark Williams), and Kristy Shore; four grandchildren, Madeline Shore, Laci Morefield, Brandon Shore, and Ellie Morefield; a brother, Thomas Shore Jr. (Clara); three sisters, Linda Deese, Barbara Odom (Edward), and Marianne King; four sisters-in-law; a host of many nieces and nephews; and his special neighbor and friend, Buddy Mitchell.

There will be a 3 p.m., funeral service held on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at First Christian Church, with Elders Richard Newsome and Bobby Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 2 to 3 p.m., at First Christian Church of Walnut Cove.
