Michael Hutchens Obituary
December 20, 1962 - August 31, 2021
Yadkinville – Michael Lee Hutchens, 58, passed away peacefully at his home and went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 31, 2021. He was born December 20, 1962 in Yadkin County to the late Vauda Lee Hutchens and Mary Sutphin Hutchens. Surviving is his aunt, Jane (Billy) Mundy; cousins, Angel (Jeff) Saggus, Christi (Anthony) Whitaker, Payton Foster, Caleb Foster (Alexis); special friends, Mike Hawks, Eddie "Hud" Hudspeth, Andy Gryder, Tim "Tumbleweed" Douglas, Johnny Ireland, Ray Williams and several other friends and racing family too numerous to mention. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Scott Welch and Mike Hawks. He will then take one last ride down the dragstrip at Farmington and then burial will follow at Courtney Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, which is serving the Hutchens family. I had the pleasure of working with Mike for many years at Unifi. I worked at the Madison location but talked to Mike regularly by phone about tasks that was part of his job that made my job easier.He was always a gentleman and his laugh was always good to hear. I was heartbroken to receive the call but comforted to know he is with the Lord. Thank you Mike for all the good talks and laughter. See you soon my friend.
