Nancy Marshall Obituary

Nancy Ann Owen Marshall went to be with her Heavenly Father in the afternoon of Thursday, September 5, 2024. Nancy was born to James Brandon and Emery Reitzel Owen, who preceded her in death. She attended Hanes High School and worked for RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company and then, for the greater period of her life, ran her own beauty salon and spent her life making other people beautiful. Nancy was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Leaving to cherish her memory are her beloved daughter, Brigitte Marshall Wall, two adored granddaughters, Bethany Marie (Jordan) and Emily Claire (Jacob) and a precious great-granddaughter, Olive Rose Sutherland, brother, Jim/JD Owen, sister, Jackie Lynn Kiger (Dale) and nephews, Dan and Joshua Owen (Tiffany), and niece, Amy Kiger Crotts. Nancy was predeceased by a very much loved son, David Vance Marshall, and a special sister-in-law, Linda Owen. Services are incomplete at this time. Donations may be made to Trellis Supportive Care in lieu of flowers.

Nancy was such a special friend. She attended activity programs when I was an activity director in long term care. She once came to a facility and gave someone a perm knowing the lady had no money. She did my hair for 18 years. There will never be another Nancy.

On behalf of our mother, Mildred Cartner, who passed in December 2020, we express our deepest condolences. Our mother was one of the ladies whom Nancy made beautiful and, more importantly, feel special. Mother loved seeing Nancy each week and looked forward to all of their great conversations. Your mother was more than a hair stylists, she was a friend to all of her clients. May you find comfort and peace.
