Paul Bobo Obituary

BOBO WINSTON-SALEM - Mr. Paul Franklin Bobo, Sr., 77, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2010 at his home. Mr. Bobo was born in Forsyth County on February 1, 1933 to the late Halley Franklin and Floy Freeman Bobo. He was a graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School and a Veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Bobo was a member of the Elks Lodge and a former Exalted Ruler. He retired from the City of Winston-Salem as a License Inspector. Mr. Bobo was a true lover of the Corvair and was a charter member of CORSA NC, where he was still a very active member. He also loved to call square dances. Mr. Bobo was preceded in death by his wife, Irene McMillan Bobo; and a brother, Forest Bobo. He is survived by a son, Paul "P.J." Bobo, Jr. and wife, Teresa of Advance; two granddaughters, Rebecca Bobo and Christina Bobo, both of Advance; three step-children, Margie Parker and husband, Lowell of Kernersville, Tammy Leonard and husband, Mike of Mt. Airy, and Rob Kingsbury of Mt. Airy; four step-grandchildren, Gretchen Parker of Los Angeles, CA, Megan Parker of London, UK, Melissa Flippin and husband, Greg of Pinnacle and Miranda Burcham and husband, Kevin of Dobson; a step-great granddaughter, Maggie Flippin; a sister-in-law, Barbara Sheppard Bobo of High Point; a nephew, Jack Ellis of Kernersville; a niece, Meri Forest Bjork and husband, Sonny of Raleigh; two great-nieces, Melinda Collins and husband, Bryan of High Point and Holly Ridge of Raleigh; and a close friend, Brenda Warner. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Dr. Mike Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 8 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2010 at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.

I am so sorry to hear about Paul. He was truly wonderful man and friend. I worked with him for about 10 years, he worked for the city and I worked with the County Tax Office. At that time, he taught me by job by riding with him to collect licenses. He would keep you laughing no matter what. I know that God has a special place for him. God bless to your family.
