Mr. Raeford G. Crumpler, 82, passed away Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Wake County to Everette B. and Bessie Hudson Crumpler. Mr. Crumpler was a member of Ardmore Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers J.H. Crumpler and Everrette B. Crumpler Jr. Mr. Crumpler is survived by his wife, Margaret Hilliard Crumpler; son and daughter-in-law Michael L. and Linda Crumpler; grandson Phillip Crumpler; sisters Edna Shytle of Chapel Hill; Bessie Jean Horne of Roseboro; Nora Mellott and her husband, Calvin, of Carrboro; Joyce Wise and her husband, David, of Clinton; cousin Herman Crumpler and his wife, Lois, of Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Crumpler will be missed most by his family, as well as his friends near and far. A private graveside service will be held Wednesday morning. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Ardmore Baptist Church, with Dr. Bill Ireland, the Rev. Christa Warise and the Rev. Melissa Willis officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Ardmore Baptist Church, 501 Miller St., Winston-Salem, NC 27103, or to Hospice and Palliative CareCenter, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
