Rob and I became friends when First Union acquired his bank in Hickory. I traveled from Asheville to support the real estate portfolio in their market. He and I spent many lunch hours on long runs in the hills. He very graciously slowed his pace so I could keep up. We spent many pleasant hours inspecting properties in the beautiful mountains around Hickory and Lenoir. I´ll never forget his sense of humor, professionalism and decency. My condolences on your loss

My love and prayers during this very difficult time. You have my deepest sympathy as I know exactly what you are experiencing. It is so hard to lose a spouse, especially so unexpectedly. Nelson thought so much of him. The great assurance is they are with Jesus. My love,
