CLEMMONS - Mr. Samuel Gregory "Lil Sam" Byerly, II, 45, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021. He was born December 25, 1975 in Forsyth County to Samuel Gregory Byerly, Sr. and Margaret Burger Byerly. Lil Sam, as he was lovingly known, was a big teddy bear and kind soul to all of his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Gregory Byerly, Sr, and by his mother, Margaret Burger Laudien. Those left to cherish his memory are his step-grandfather, Jim Byerly; several aunts and uncles, including 2 special aunts, Darlene (Randy) Stewart and Ann (Gerald) Fletcher; his step-father, Sven Laudien; several cousins and friends. The family will receive friends for Lil Sam from 6-8 PM Friday, April 9, 2021 at Gentry Family Funeral Service, 5108 US Highway 601, Yadkinville. I can't express how sad I am at the passing of my dear, dear, sweet friend. We spent a lot of time together. I will never forget him or our time spent hanging out. Sometimes staying up all night, just talking. I feel so lost. I keep waiting for a text, a phone call or him just stopping by unannounced. I hope he knew how much I loved him. You are now "In the arms of the Angels - May you find some comfort there"

Sam we have to many memories to be able to pick just one but you were always there for me regardless of anyone or anything and I will cherish our friendship for the rest of my life. To Ann and Jim he truly respected you. He loved his family and no matter where he was or whatever he was doing he always respected his family and loved everyone so much. Sam I will always love you and you will forever be with me wherever I am!

My heart is broken and has been shattered once again just as it was starting to heal. I know what I meant to you and you know what you meant to me. I'm going to miss you and life will never be the same without you ever again! You have the biggest heart of anyone that I've ever met! At the end we were only friends, but we ended up being great friends. I will cherish that forever and just like I've always said , I will love you forever and always! I'm going to miss you more than you know! I know you will be there for me when it's my time you and Tyler both will be there for me waiting with open arms and I'm looking forward to seeing you both once again!
