Ted R. Whittaker Jr., 83, of Winston-Salem, went to be with his Lord Friday, Oct. 21, 2022, at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born Feb. 21, 1939, in McDowell County, WVA to Theodore Roosevelt Whittaker Sr. and Sarah Belle McMillan. Mr. Whittaker was a longtime member of Advent Moravian Church, where he served on many committees in different roles. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Peggy Beamer. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sybil Whittaker. Ted was an avid golfer who played many courses including two rounds at Augusta National where the Masters is held. In addition, he was an enthusiastic supporter of Wake Forest University. In 2004, he chose to donate his total body to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center requesting that no services be held at the time of his passing. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Advent Moravian Church, 1514 W. Clemmonsville Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
