Virginia Gwaltney Myles

MYLES WINSTON-SALEM Virginia Gwaltney Myles February 19, 2013 Virginia (Ginney) Myles, 89, formerly of Seabrook Island, SC, passed away February 19, 2013. She was born in Sikeston, MO, the youngest of 6 children to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Gwaltney. She and her husband moved to Winston-Salem in 2005 to be closer to family. Virginia was a kind and gentle person who loved her family and all of God's creation - especially four-legged furry ones. She loved music and loved to dance. She valiantly dealt with the ravages of Alzheimer's disease for nearly a decade. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond L Myles in 2008. Also preceding her were her parents, her siblings, and a step-son Michael Myles. Her immediate survivors are: Son Gene (Ruth) Saalweachter of Yadkinville NC; Daughter Melissa (Andy) Vaughan of Newport MI; Step-daughter Jackie (Doug) St. Louis of State Road NC; Step daughter in-law Judy Myles of Ozark MO; Step-son Danny (Sandra) St.Louis of Morganton, NC; Step-son Jim Myles (Alice) of Huntsville AL; Grandchildren: Scott (Amy) Saalweachter; Kristi (Chris) Mason; Stacey Vaughan; Patrick (Jobelle) Vaughan; David (Hilary) St. Louis; Matthew St. Louis; Michelle (PJ) Brown; Kelly Gibson; Bryan (Dandy) Myles; Jonathan (Noelle) Myles; Kevin Myles; Ben St. Louis; Steven St. Louis; Jennifer (Rick) St. Louis; Great-grandchildren: Zac, Caroline and JonReed Saalweachter; Chloe Vaughan; Griffin St. Louis; Eli and Gideon Myles; Joshua Gibson; Lucie, Bailey, and Quentin Robinson; and Grace Myles. A graveside service with Rev. Tim Shoaf presiding is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2013 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory, Clemmons, NC. The family extends sincere thanks to staff at Trinity Glen, especially Sheila, Dan and Pam for caring for Virginia the past six months and also to the Elms at Tanglewood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem NC 27103. Vogler and Sons Clemmons Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
