Earl R. Stutz

Earl R. Stutz, 74, of Beaver Dam passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, Wisc.
Earl was born November 19, 1950 in Beaver Dam, Wisc. the son of Merlin and Dorothy (Watson) Stutz. He graduated from Juneau High School in 1968 and married Greta Thurner from Janesville on May 13, 1972.
Earl's career journey began with an electrical apprenticeship from 1969 to 1972 at Aunt Nellie's Foods in Clyman, Wisc. In 1972 was hired at John Deere in Horicon and continued on as an electrician for several years before moving to Maintenance Supervision and Facility Engineer where he spent most of his 30-year career. Earl was proud to achieve his State Certification as a Master Electrician.
He retired from John Deere in 2002 and continued running his fulltime electrical business that he had started in 1990. He retired fulltime in the fall of 2015.
Earl stood strong in his faith as a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
Earl wore many hats through the years to include: Town of Beaver Dam Planning Committee Secretary for 14 years, serving on the Board of Directors for the Beaver Dam Hockey Association and the Oakwood Cemetery Association. He enjoyed volunteering in various capacities to include: the Dodge County Humane Society, a hospice volunteer at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital and driver for Dodge County Aging and Disability Resource Center. He was also an avid supporter of PAVE in Beaver Dam.
Earl's dogs were always his soft spot with which he had a special bond, Harley, Brady and Rosie being his most recent special buddies.
Earl was always the jokester and willing to provide belly laughs. His sense of humor and quick wit were unmatched. He thoroughly enjoyed his round table morning chatter, solving the world's problems one cup of coffee at a time with his friends at Walkers Restaurant.
Earl was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and mentor. His legacy will live on in the lives that he touched.
He is survived by his wife, Greta; two daughters, Nicole (Mark) Christensen and Natalie Stutz; and one son, Adam Stutz; three grandchildren, Olivia Weikert, Ashley Weikert and Sawyer Stutz; two sisters, Linda Ganz and Julie Stutz; his brother, Randy Stutz; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Brenda and John Miller and Greg and Jan Thurner and other nieces, nephews, cousins and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Henry and Betty Thurner; and brother-in-law, Gary Thurner.
A visitation for Earl will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, 300 West St., Beaver Dam. A funeral will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Philip Heyer officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Wisc. All are welcome to a luncheon following the burial at St. Stephen's fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Earl's name may be directed to St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church.
