Phyllis Steinbach Obituary

Phyllis Steinbach

Phyllis Steinbach, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 1, 2025.

Phyllis was born to Charles and Matilda Daniel. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School with the Class of 1951. Before marriage, Phyllis was employed at Monarch Range for four years. On May 7, 1955, she was united in marriage to Harvey Steinbach at St. Peter's Catholic Church (now St. Katharine Drexel) in Beaver Dam. They were married for 69 years. Once her children were in school, Phyllis worked at JK Fabrics until it closed in 1988. She then worked for Nancy's Notions until retirement. A talented seamstress, Phyllis enjoyed sewing and helped many people with their sewing needs. She volunteered at the hospital, as well as for Meals on Wheels. She loved playing cards, coordinating the bridge games at the Watermark and belonging to numerous card clubs throughout the years. All card games were welcome, from bridge, euchre, and sheepshead, to the family 7up card game. She also greatly enjoyed traveling and going on gambling trips.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Harvey; children, Jeff Steinbach, Sue Steinbach, Kathy (Jim) Moritz, and Diane (Roger) Wilding; 2 grandchildren, Skyler (Ewa) and Shaun (Leslie); 2 great-grandchildren, Emma and Ana; and further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepsisters, Evie Wendt and Ethel Braun; stepbrothers, Edward Mulvaney and Gib Mulvaney; and other relatives.
