Richard "Dick" B. Klecker
August 1, 1937 - June 28, 2024
Richard "Dick" B. Klecker, affectionately known as "Bulldog" passed away peacefully at his home on June 28, 2024 at the age of 86. He was born on August 1, 1937 to Merlin & Helen (Traut) Klecker. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1955. Dick attained the rank of Corporal while serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958. In 1966, he married Penelope McNulty. He worked many years as a mason for Grignano and then Findorff taking pride in his craft. He was an active member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and the American Legion.
Dick is survived by his children: Jennifer Schuh Hausher of Appleton, Barry (Debbie) Klecker of Fall River, Luz Looper of Madison, Jocelyn (Rich) Rohn of Columbus, and Tierney Klecker of Columbus; Step-children: Salvatore (Sandee) Safina and Shelley Safina; Grandchildren: Liz and Emily Hausher, Chelsey (Spencer) Dowdell, Ben (Amy) Klecker, Alyssa (Hunter) Lee, Lydia Looper, Rachel (Trevor) Looper, Gabrielle Looper, Paul Looper, Gwen (Jayden) Meyer, Josephine Looper, Brittany Klecker; Step-grandchildren: Nick Crawford and Jesse Hansis; 13 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and Penny, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Mary Helen & Bill Kennedy, and brother and sister-in-law Donald "Whitey" and Barb Klecker.
Dick was loved very much by his family and circle of friends. He enjoyed all of his coffee club visits, especially his stops at BP with long-time friend, Eddie Wolf. He received much joy from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the many activities they were involved in.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Columbus at 11:00 AM with Father Bala Kasipogu officiating. Friends and relatives may call on the family at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Columbus.
