Sally Maas Obituary

Sally A. Maas

July 21, 1944 - May 17, 2025

Sally A. Maas, 80, of Beaver Dam and formerly of Randolph passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the Columbus Health and Rehab Center.

Sally was born on July 21, 1944 the daughter of Edwin and Helen (Fischer) Braun in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. She was married to Allen M. Maas on October 9, 1971 at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam, Wis.

Sally was a dedicated and loving mother, wife and homemaker. After raising her children, she enjoyed working seasonal at Jung Seed Company for many years.

Sally was known for her hospitality and generous and welcoming heart, she made sure no guest ever left hungry. She was a natural storyteller, family historian and keeper of the memories. Sally was the person everyone turned to for cherished stories from generations past.

Sally shared a life of love and adventure with her husband Allen. Together, they traveled and Sally documented their journeys in the journals she so faithfully kept capturing not only where they went, but how they felt along the way. Recently, Sally found joy and community at the nursing home, where she was a regular (and often lucky!) presence at the bingo table.

Sally leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter and the importance of knowing where you come from. Her stories will live on in the hearts of those who love her.

Sally will be deeply missed by her children, Tommy Rupp of Fox Lake, Vicky Cranfield of Adams, Jackie (Bob) Sheahan of Crivitz, John (Julie) Rupp of Friendship, Randy (Suzette) Maas of Oshkosh, and Cindy (Doug) Terrell of Kenosha; 17 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; her sister, Jean Budde of Beaver Dam; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allen in 2024; daughter-in-law, Renate; her grandson, Thomas; her brother, Charlie Braun and her sister, Mary Heeringa.

A memorial gathering for Sally will be held at the American Legion, 300 Beichl Ave., Beaver Dam, Wis. on Sunday, June 8, 2025 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
