BEAVER DAM - Steven C. Kastenmeier, age 79, of Beaver Dam, died Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.
Visitation for Steve will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be at Oakwood Cemetery on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
Steven Charles Kastenmeier was born on January 5, 1945, in Beaver Dam, WI to the late Lawrence and Alice (Polchinski) Kastenmeier. He attended St. Peter Grade School and then Beaver Dam High School.
On May 16, 1964, Steve was united in marriage with Ellen Schweiger. She preceded him in death in 2010.
Steve worked at Kirsh Foundry and at Weyenberg Shoe Factory in Beaver Dam; he also worked as a Custodian at the Beaver Dam School District and at the school district in Goose Creek, SC.
Steve enjoyed playing softball and he also enjoyed coaching senior league girls' softball. He also liked bowling and fishing, as well, and took great comfort in the love and companionship of his cat, Sierra.
Survivors include his children: Dawn (Scott) Fry of Janesville, Donna Kastenmeier of Beaver Dam, Bruce (Ludita) Kastenmeier of Philippines and Stephanie Kastenmeier (Steven VanRensselaer) of Reeseville; nine grandchildren: Cody (Diana) Kastenmeier, Elaine (Joseph) LaVake, Gregory (Rachel) Kastenmeier, Alex (Hayley) Gosda, Cassandra Rupprecht and Christopher Sessions, Reyben Jay Hiramis, Jacob Matthew Kastenmeier and Nathalie Nicole Kastenmeier; 10 great-grandchildren; four siblings: Jean (Richard) Kelly, Janice (Ronald) Warmka, Catherine (James) Bloomfield and Paul Kastenmeier (fiancee, Kelly Henning); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ellen Kastenmeier; a brother, Ken Kastenmeier; and a sister-in-law, Cathy Kastenmeier.

Steve was a regular coming down to Johnnie´s 66. He loved sitting in the office and talking with everyone! Steve will be truly missed!!
