James R. Kniprath

Wisconsin Rapids - James R. Kniprath, age 76, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away Thursday April 8, 2021 at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa. Rev. John Swing will officiate. Military rites will be provided by Nekoosa VFW Post # 5960. A memorial visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 until the time of service at 6:00 PM.

James was born March 19, 1945 in Belvidere, IL to Dale and Rosalie (Roth) Kniprath. He served in the US Army from 1965 to 1966 and was stationed in Viet Nam. James married Lois Klein on September 30, 1967 in Nekoosa. He was a cranberry grower at Bennett Cranberry and Dempze Cranberry.

James was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and camping. He and Lois enjoyed 20 years of retirement in Phillips before moving back to Wisconsin Rapids. James loved his family and his role as husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Lois Kniprath; four children Rick (Amy) Kniprath of Wisconsin Rapids, Tina Bagnowski (fiancé Aaron Vincent) of Rudolph, Randy (Deb) Kniprath of Adams and Ranee (Keith) Fabianski of Three Lakes; ten grandchildren Adreanna and Gavin Kniprath, Noelle (Brock) Rozner, Ashley and Joshua Bagnowski, Brandon, Justyn and Makenna Kniprath and Gunnar and Jesse Fabianski; two brothers Roger (Mary) Kniprath and Robert Kniprath ( fiancé Jan Fisher); two sisters Deljean Martinovich and Patricia Martinovich and sister in law Marlene Kniprath.

James was preceded in death by his parents; brother Phil Kniprath infant sister Ruth Kniprath and brothers in law Pete and Lee Martinovich.
