Arthur V. Johnston

Arthur V. Johnston, 83, of the Town of Georgetown, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, December 30, 2024. He was born in the Town of Georgetown on October 12, 1941, a son of the late Virgil and Margaret (Darrow) Johnston and was a Georgetown High School graduate. He was married to the former Priscilla J. Angelo.
Arthur began working on the family farm, before going to work for Cossitt Concrete, Hamilton, Agway Inc., Georgetown and eventually DeRuyter Farm & Garden Co-Op, as a truck driver until his retirement. Art was an avid bowler and won many trophies for his accomplishments. He enjoyed his farm tractors, cutting wood, setting fence posts and staying busy.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Ed Guzylak, of Auburn, a sister, Vivian Harris, of Eaton, nieces, Debbie D'Arienzo (Tony) of Ga, Cindy (Merrie) McElrath, of Ca., nephew Steve (Phyllis) Harris, of Eaton, several grand nieces and nephews, his companion, Fran Davis, of Georgetown, her family, and his dog Henry.
In keeping with his wishes, graveside services and interment in the Hillside Cemetery, Georgetown, will be private at the convenience of the family.
There will be no calling hours.
