Marilou Korrie Obituary
Marilou Korrie, 83, of Deerfield, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side.
Born on July 12, 1941, in Utica, Marilou was the daughter of the late Louis and Anna Marie (George) Baskinger. She was a graduate of Proctor High School.
On September 5, 1960, she married Patrick J. Korrie, the love of her life, in St. Louis Gonzaga Church. They shared a blessed union of over 61 years prior to his passing on June 6, 2022.
Marilou was employed at Oneida National Bank before raising her family. She later worked for Price Chopper, where she served as a trainer for new cashiers.
Marilou was the heart of her family; the welcoming light that made her house feel like home to all who visited. It was also more than just a home; to many, it was a haven, a gathering place, a hub for laughter, comfort, and stories. Marilou taught us that love was infinite.
She is survived by her children, Pat (Marlene) Korrie, Karen (Scott) Mahardy and Kristen Riggles; grandchildren, Ashley (Chris) White, Megan, Kaitlin, and Jessica Mahardy, Tristan (fiancée, Rosie) and Jeremy Riggles, Hannah (Michael) Nodalo and Marcus Livermore; great-grandchildren, Austin, Memphis, and Maverick White; siblings, Julianne (John) Adasek and Louis (Patricia) Baskinger; special daughter-in-law, Nancy (Lee) Livermore, and in-laws, George and Phylis Korrie. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many lifelong friends.
Marilou was predeceased by her in-laws, Kay Bolecek, Joseph (Anne) Korrie, Annie (Sal) Benincasa; Anthony (Flo) Korrie, Louie Korrie, and John (RoseMarie) Korrie.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 4-6 p.m. at McGrath, Myslinski, Kowalczyk & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd., Utica. Funeral services will commence immediately following visitation at 6 p.m. Private interment will be in Calvary Mausoleum.
Marilou's family wishes to thank her "angels", caregivers Michelle, Lisa, Karen, and Maria. They, along with Hospice, gave her the gift of living out her final months, making treasured memories at home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. (www.hospicecareinc.org) or Historic Old St. John's Food Pantry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
