Carol Nangle Obituary
Carol Sue (Dowell) Nangle, 82, of Lafayette, Indiana, passed away surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 12, 1943, in Lafayette, to the late Roy and Myrtle Dowell.
On September 18, 1961, Carol married the love of her life, Arne Eugene Nangle, in Lafayette. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and countless family memories. They raised three children: Brad (Maria) Nangle of Lafayette, IN; Arlene (Kris) Baldwin of Noblesville, IN; and Tracy (Patrick) Glotzbach of St. Joseph, MI.
Family was at the center of Carol's life. She cherished being present for every sporting event, school function, and milestone of her children and grandchildren-often even signing the grandchildren up herself to make sure they had those opportunities. She also operated a daycare out of her home, caring for not only her grandchildren but also Justin, Kayla, and Erin, who remained forever like family to her.
Carol's grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her endless joy: Sarah (Michael) Frost of Plainfield, IN; Samantha Heffelmire of Noblesville, IN; Ashley Baldwin of Tullahoma, TN; Nathan (Shelby) Glotzbach of Madison, WI; Conner Nangle of Lafayette, IN; Andrew Glotzbach of St. Paul, MN, and Parker Nangle of Lafayette, IN. She was blessed with great-grandchildren Amelia Frost, Elena Frost, and Sophia Heffelmire.
Carol will be remembered for her many talents and passions. She was a gifted seamstress who loved sewing and reupholstering furniture until age slowed her hands. She enjoyed ancestry research, countless camping trips with her brothers, sister, and extended family, and always made holidays and traditions special. Her Christmas taco bar became a beloved family gathering, and her famous Christmas meatloaf will be missed by all.
With a playful spirit, Carol delighted in being a prankster-especially with Arne, who was often the target of her April Fools' tricks. From sewing his pant legs shut to leaving the cheese wrapper on his sandwich, she never missed the chance to make him laugh.
She also enjoyed the simple pleasures-especially her beloved Diet Coke-and the countless hours spent making memories with her loved ones.
Carol is survived by her sisters Kathryn Wright of Shadeland, IN, and Judy (Harold) Riddle of Lafayette, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents and ten siblings.
Her legacy is one of love, laughter, devotion, and family togetherness. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
