George Allen "Bing" Harding

George Allen "Bing" Harding, 78, of West Lafayette, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Franciscan Health in Lafayette, IN. He was born on August 13, 1946, in Muncie, IN, to the late Jesse Lyle and Jean Ann (Sharp) Harding. Bing was raised in New Carlisle, IN, where he developed a lifelong passion for sports, especially as a devoted fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. He attended Ball State University and enjoyed a long and successful career as an executive in the high-tech electronics industry. Bing will be remembered for his sharp wit, generous spirit, and unwavering love for his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of more than 40 years, Dawn A. (Falk) Harding, whom he married on October 27, 1984. His greatest joy in life was being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is lovingly remembered by his six children and their spouses: Scott (Abbie) Harding, Christy (Sean) Whalen, Shelley (Bob) Wilson, Jared (Erin) Harding, Chad (Lauren) Harding, and Ashley Harding (fiancé Dave Gabbert). "Papa Bing" was cherished by his seven grandchildren: Brenley, Sienna, Hudson, Carsen, Benjamin, Beau, and Perry. He is also survived by his siblings: Beth (Ken) Albrecht, Nan (Joe) Girardi, and Jack (Carla) Harding. Bing's love for golf, quick humor, and enduring wisdom left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway West, West Lafayette, IN 47906. A celebration of Bing's life will be held later this summer, where friends and family will gather to honor his remarkable legacy.
