Rex K Sage

Rex K. Sage, 85, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Saint Anthony Healthcare in Lafayette. Rex was born January 18, 1940 in Lafayette to the late Lewis and Katherine (Hild) Sage. His marriage was to Betty Jean Miller on July 28, 1962 and she survives. Rex served his country in the US Army Reserve. He worked as a sheet metal worker at the Local Union for over 34 years. Rex was a member of Congress Street United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, antiques, and going to car shows with his 39 Chevy. He also loved watching his grandchildren in their activities. He loved his family dearly and will be deeply missed. In addition to his wife, Rex is survived by his children, Jason P. (Beth) Sage of Raleigh, NC, Jon L. (Jenny) Sage of Charlotte, NC, and Vicki A. (Matt) Metzger of Lafayette, IN; grandchildren, Matt (Haley) Sage, Nikki Sage, Austin Sage, Bobby Metzger, Joey Metzger, Kati Metzger and Sami Metzger; sisters, Molly Sage of Monticello, IN and Sally Cooper of Lafayette, IN. Preceded in death by sister, Susan (Sage) Fagan. A funeral service will take place Friday July 25th at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 pm with a service following at 1:00pm. Burial service will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens immediately following.
