Robert Shaffer Obituary

Robert Shaffer, age 86, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025. He was born in Huntington on May 6, 1938, to Clarence and Genevieve (Comer) Shaffer. A skilled mechanic, he worked at a local Ford garage and proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958, remaining on standby until 1964. He had a deep love for music and could often be found playing the harmonica or guitar. He especially enjoyed singing karaoke-his signature song was "It's Me Again, Margaret." He also excelled at shooting pool and dancing, and was known for his warm, outgoing nature. He never met a stranger and had a special gift for making people smile. Robert is survived by his daughter, Rebecca (Kenneth) Shaffer-Larr; his son, Brian Shaffer; one grandson, Nathaniel Shaffer; three great-granddogs, Lucy, Ollie, and Melvin; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Paul Shaffer, Richard Shaffer, and William Shaffer; his late wife; his son, Terry Shaffer, and his grandma, Florence (Robuck) Comer Fond memories and expressions of sympathy can be left for Robert's family at https://tippecanoememorygardens.com/obituaries-list/ To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Robert, please visit our floral store.

I miss you... I love you. I´ll never forget the impact you´ve had on so many. You called me son and your the greatest father figure a guy could ever ask for. I wish we had one more pool game, one more trip, one more conversation. I´ll always work hard to keep you proud... Your story will never fade with those of us left to share it.
