Adam Sharp Obituary
Adam Irvine Sharp, 19, of Greenfield, Ohio died on Sunday, July 20, 2014, shortly after arrival at the Wayne County Hospital in Monticello, Ky. following a boating accident on Lake Cumberland.
Adam was born on April 21, 1995, in Columbus, Ohio to David William and Suzanne Irvine Sharp, both of whom survive and reside in Greenfield.
He was a 2013 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School in Greenfield. He had completed his freshman year at Wilmington College where he was majoring in agriculture business and production and was a member of the Aggies.
Adam was a member of Pisgah Mt. Pleasant Federated Church and attended Heritage Memorial Church of Christ in Christian Union. While a student at McClain, he was a member of FFA and served four years on the livestock judging team and three years on the soil judging team. He received the State Degree and will be bestowed with the American Degree in October.
He also was a member of the National Honor Society; was a four-year member and team captain of the golf team of which he was a district qualifier, first team All-District and second team All-SCOL. He was also a Life Scout with Boy Scout Troop No. 190.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Sharp in April.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Aaron Sharp of Greenfield; grandparents, Betsy Sharp of Bethel Park, Pa. and Janice and Frank Irvine of Greenfield; an uncle, Robert Irvine of Greenfield, uncle and aunt, Joseph and Denise Sharp of Washington, Pa. and their children, Rachel, Andrea and Cooper Sharp; an aunt, Elizabeth Ford of Eighty-Four, Pa. and her children, Hannah, Stewart and Logan Ford; and his girlfriend, Tara Ann Karnes of Greenfield.
The funeral will be on Saturday, July 26 at 1 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Church of Christ in Christian Union, with the Rev. Joe B. Stewart and the Rev. Aaron Duvall officiating. The burial will follow in South Salem Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Adam Sharp Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Merchants National Bank, 117 S. Washington St., Greenfield, OH 45123.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.

Dave and family , what a tragic loss and I am so sorry. After reading through the condolences, I have learned that Adam was a special kind of person and is loved and will be missed by many people. Dave, you and your wife must have been very proud to have Adam as a son. I will ask God to Bless you all with the strength to get through this tough time. This has to be the hardest thing that your family has ever experienced. I can't begin to imagine and my heart truly does hurt for you all. Dave was always a good friend to me at the factory so it is obvious where Adam got many of his good person qualities from. God Bless the entire Sharp family.

I did not know Adam, but I knew of him. I did know of him and how many peoples' lives he touched and his good deeds. Tara and his love shone.I seen them meeting up every day after accounting. I can't possibly imagine what everyone must be going through. Stay strong in your faith and the love of the people God surrounded you with will pull you up from this dark time. My youngest sister (Abby) is best friends with Tara and was also a good friend of Adam's. Adam always was such a kind, polite young man. I never saw him without a big smile on his face. While I didn't meet Adam during this past year at Wilmington (his first and my last), I hear that he had become quite a valued member of the Wilmington College community.
