Cletus Dale Goodman, age 83, of Wilmington, passed away May 30, 2024, at his home after an extended illness. He was born July 29, 1940, in Pleasantville, Indiana, the son of the late Jessie and Helen (Lehman) Goodman.
Cletus started working at Delco-Remy in Dayton, Ohio in 1963, he retired as a skilled trades millwright in 2004. When he was home, he enjoyed mowing and tending to his yard and property and working with his hands on any type of project.
Cletus is the father of two sons, Mark Goodman and Mike (Rhonda) Goodman, both of Hillsboro; daughter Wyla Goodman of Wilmington; five grandsons, Chris Goodman of Hillsboro, Dustin (Kasi) Goodman of Goshen, Cody (Cassie) Goodman of Beavercreek, Justin Chambliss of Kettering, and Derek (Jackie) Chambliss of Dayton; four great grandsons; two great granddaughters; two God-daughters, Lisa Heath of Naples, Florida and Heather (Bryon) Stommel of Pendleton, Indiana; special family friend Mable (Bob) Heath of Pendleton, Indiana, four step-granddaughters; brother Wayne Goodman of Dugger, Indiana; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Cletus is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Brenda (Pitts) Goodman; brothers Jessie Goodman and Norman Goodman; sister Nellie (Goodman) Swaby; and three nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, Cletus is to be cremated and no public services are to be held. If desired, friends may make a donation to the nearest Humane Society in his name. Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington, is assisting the family.
