Laura Taylor Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Laura "Kathy" "Maga" Kathleen Taylor who left us on September 14, 2025 at the age of 82.
She was born in Vallejo, California on February 14, 1943. Kathy was an adored wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend who dedicated her life to faith and family. Kathy preceded in death by her loving husband, Mark; her mother, Margie Fotis; her father, Francis Broussard; her step-father, Sotir Fotis; her sister Carol (Terry) Nelson. She is survived by her sister Cindy (Martin Rolin) Kamps; her children Phillip (Kathy) Newton; Robert (Lisa) Lee; Shelby (Bill) Hubbell; Gidget (Ray) Mojica; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Kathy was a kind-hearted Christian and very passionate about her faith. Her unwavering love for God and family will be remembered as her legacy. She was deeply appreciated by her friends and family, who valued her lovely spirit, wit, and humor. Kathy's first granddaughter played a significant role in her title, Maga, and it became the nickname of choice for her and her family. Kathy enjoyed gardening, baking, and taking long walks. She cherished spending time with her community, often engaging in tabletop game sessions with friends. Kathy shared a special bond with her dog, William, who was her faithful companion and source of joy.
"So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy." (John 16:22)
We will honor her memory by living out the same kind of love she gave us. May her example inspire us to love more, forgive more, and serve more.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025 beginning at 2pm followed by a reception at Wilmington Church of Christ located at 909 W Locust St, Wilmington, OH 45177.
