Ronald Wayne "Whitey" Ragan, age 76, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away August 24, 2022 at the Quaker Heights Community in Waynesville, Ohio.
He was born July 22, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Lester Marion and Eilene (Riddle) Ragan.
Ron, being a selfless individual and wanting to help the medical community, has donated his body to Ohio University.
A U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam War Veteran, he had worked at Wrencare as a driver in Middletown, at Auto Advantage as a printer in Wilmington, at Springfield Friends Cemetery as a caretaker, and at Tufts-Schildmeyer Funeral Home in Blanchester as an assistant.
Surviving are his son, Jonathan Ray (Marcella) Ragan of Waynesville; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his sisters, Kay Morlene, Shirley Ragan, and Yvonne Ragan; and his brother, Aaron Thomas.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 W. Locust St. at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington, with Pastor Jim Krusling officiating. The Active Duty United States Marine Corps Marines will accord the traditional veteran funeral honors.
Interment will be at the family's convenience in the Clinton County Memory Gardens, Wilmington, Ohio. Friends will be received from 3-4 p.m. Tuesday, September 6 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home.
