Angelina Sullivan Obituary

PAWTUCKET - Angelina (Moniz) Sullivan passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 17th, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Manuel and Angelina (Casemiro) Moniz and widow of Henry G. Sullivan. She was preceded in death by her sisters Elsie and Ruth and by her brothers James and Albert.

She is survived by her children Peter, Bruce, Ruth, Steven, Mark, Faith, and Rachel, 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and more than a few "adopted" children who considered her a second mom.

She was born in Fall River, Massachusetts the daughter of immigrants whose families met on the ship coming over from the Azores. She settled in Pawtucket, RI, and lived in her home on Chandler Avenue for 55 years.

She worked as a data processing operator for the City of Pawtucket for 20 years. On retirement, she indulged her lifelong passion for reading, and after her beloved Henry died, took up watching the Red Sox just as faithfully as he did. She also loved caring for her grandchildren.

She saw the goodness in everyone which made her so easy to talk to. She was such a great listener that her home was the gathering place for family and friends. She adored animals and always had a cat, dog, and/or bird to lavish attention on and spoil. She had a complicated relationship with plants in that she didn't like having to care for them but dutifully did so as she would feel enormous guilt if they failed to thrive.

To know her was to have laughed with her as she laughed easily and often and that remarkable sense of humor and compassion for others were her trademarks.

The world has lost a beautiful soul and heaven has gained the most beautiful angel.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at Swan Point Cemetery's chapel at 11 am on March 26th, 2022.

No matter what life threw at her, Aunt Angie rose above it and remained a shining light for everybody who was lucky enough to be in her presence. I only wish I could be there with everybody else to mourn her loss and celebrate her life. I love you Aunt Angie!

My deepest condolences to Faith, Mark, Ruthie and all of Angie´s children and grandchildren who to me, are all an extension of my own family. There are not words to adequately express how much I loved her or how important she was, especially in my early years, in shaping the person that I am today. I will always be grateful for her love, guidance, encouragement and occasional kick in the a** that were ever present during some the best, and some of the hardest, times in my life. Heaven most certainly has gained an angel. Rest in Peace dear Angie, I love you.
