Brooks Herrick Obituary
Mr. Herrick had been a CPA, VP of Finance at NRI Community Services until his retirement in May.
He was born November 25, 1937 in Leominster the son of the late Ralph W. and Annie A. (Tollerton) Herrick, and a graduate of Bentley and Boston College. Brooks was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Cold War.
He enjoyed golf, boating, volunteer work, and sports.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, Mary, Brooks is survived by his daughter, Andrea M. Herrick of Millville. He was predeceased by three brothers, Ralph Herrick, Jr., Robert Herrick, and Richard Herrick.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 4-8 PM in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 101 N. Main St., Rte. 122, Uxbridge.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 2, 2015 at 9:45 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Augustine's Church, 17 Lincoln St., Millville.
Burial will follow with Full Military Honors in St. Mary's Cemetery, Granite St., Uxbridge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, c/o Dr. Toni Choueiri, Kidney Research, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215 or to St. Augustine's Parish, P.O. Box 710, Millville, MA 01529.

I've never met a harder working, intelligent, sincere, and funny man. Brooks was one of a kind; he cared for the agency's mission but he also cared for its staff and he championed so many of us time after time. We miss you Brooks.

I will never forget the changing of a van tire in the dark on a New York highway, when AAA couldn't find us and it seemed that all anyone else knew how to do was hold their cell phones like flashlights -- there was Brooks, on his knees, cranking the jack, loosening the bolts, hoisting that spare on like a pro... He was someone who not only knew what to do, but how to do it. And what a smile!
