Celia L. Hamel

1925 - 2015

LINCOLN - HAMEL, Celia L., Wife of the late Joseph R. Hamel, passed into eternal rest February 5th. Born in Attleboro on September 16, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Adelard and Mary (Bessette) Fredette. Celia lived in Pawtucket and Central Falls before moving to Lincoln in 1980. She worked at Uniroyal in Woonsocket and ER Hutchinson in Pawtucket before retiring in the 1990's. She was a communicant of Holy Spirit Parish in Central Falls.
Celia enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening. She was happiest when she was helping someone, especially her loving family.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Marcotte and her husband Charles, with whom she lived; her grandson Charles Hamel Marcotte and his wife Kerri of Attleboro, MA; and her grandson, Dr. Joseph Hamel Marcotte of Philadelphia, PA. She is also survived by her great grandson, Zachary Marcotte who brought great joy to her in her final years.
Celia was predeceased by her siblings Albertine Brown, Irene Sequeira, Emile Fredette, Claire Roy and Rita Malouin.
A celebration of Celia's life will be held Saturday, February 7th, from 8:00-9:00 am at Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Holy Spirit Church, 1030 Dexter St., Central Falls. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
