Claude "Real" Richer

1939 - 2018

NORTH SMITHFIELD - Claude "Real" Richer of North Smithfield passed away on December 7, 2018, after a short illness. He was born October 31, 1939 in Uxbridge, Massachusetts. He was the son to the late Omer and Adrienne Richer and brother to Lawrence Richer and the late Estelle DuFour.
Real spent his career in the restaurant industry where he enjoyed serving loyal customers. He managed Lindy's Tavern in Slatersville, owned and operated Richer's Restaurant in Woonsocket, cooked for Christopher's Restaurant in Woonsocket and bartended for Wright's Farm Restaurant in Harrisville for the past 30 years.
Real was an avid golfer, enjoyed bike riding and going to the gym. He was a devoted Red Sox fan and enjoyed following their ups and downs each baseball season. Later in life, he enjoyed spending time at the beach and traveling with his family.
Real is survived by his wife, Elaine Richer, his daughter Sheryl Richer Brochu, step daughters Lori McVey and Georgi Morin, and his beloved grandchildren Bailey Brochu, Owen McVey, Eli McVey, Ryley Morin, and Matthew Morin.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday December 12, 2018 at 11am in St John's Church in Slatersville. There will be no calling hours and the burial will be private.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Keene-Brown Funeral Home in North Smithfield.
