Daniel R. "Dan" Forestal Jr.

1933 - 2021

BELLINGHAM - Daniel "Dan" R. Forestal Jr., 87, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at home with his loving family by his side after a long struggle with COPD. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Lou (Anger) Forestal. He is the loving father of Brian Forestal and his companion Kara Gilman of Ashland, Barbara Devine and her companion Tom Grossi of Norton, and Kelly Forestal and her companion Russell Vallee of Bellingham. He was predeceased by son Douglas and daughter Nancy. He leaves his cherished 7 grandchildren, Nicholas Henderson and his wife, Sonya of Norton, Nathan Forestal and his fiancée Kortni of Bellingham, Daniel Forestal and his wife Allie of Woonsocket, Nadine Forestal of Bellingham, Timothy Sanson and his companion Becky of N. Attleboro, Thomas Forestal of Bellingham, James Forestal of Bellingham and his late grandson, Christopher Forestal, and 3 great-grandchildren, Nathan Jr., Logan and Kendall.

Born in Woonsocket on November 22, 1933, he was the son of the late Daniel R. and Germaine Y. (Menard) Forestal, and the brother of the late Robert R. Forestal. He leaves his brother-in-law Gerald Anger and his wife, Debra of Michigan.

Dan was a resident of Bellingham since 1966 formerly of Woonsocket. He retired from Texas Instruments located in Attleboro, MA in 1994 after over 25 years of service.

He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He attained the rank of SP3 and received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

Dan was a life member of the Cercle Laurier and the Italian Workingmen's Club. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing golf and playing cards with family and friends. Together Dan and Lou enjoyed traveling especially trips to Las Vegas, casinos, and traveling to Patriots games. Dan will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 15th at 10:00AM at Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Interment will be at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham with military honors. Visiting time from 8:30AM to 10AM prior to service at the funeral home.
